We are thrilled to announce that Henry Gómez has been officially recognized for his lifelong contributions to the local music scene in the recently published book, The History of Music in San Antonio (edited by Mark Brill, Stan Renard, and William Glenn).
In a dedicated section titled "Juan Ortíz and Henry Gómez, San Antonio Mariachi Icons," the book dives deep into Henry’s incredible journey, from his roots in San Antonio’s West Side barrio to becoming the Alamo City's premier mariachi arranger and "first-call" studio musician.
It is a profound honor to see Henry's dedication to mariachi, ranchera, and Tex-Mex music immortalized in print. We highly recommend checking out the book to learn more about Henry's story, as well as the rich, diverse musical heritage of our beautiful city.
